SQP is at the forefront of grain commodity pool innovation and the Early Order Premium +PLUS program is one product tailored to suit Australian growers needs.

The Early Order Premium (EOP)+ PLUS program was designed to take into account production risk whilst offering a premium over and above SQP’s already competitive pool returns. This year SQP has developed the program further to include more features which lock in premiums and lock out risk, allowing SQP’s customers to commit with confidence!

The Early Order program has three important features:

1. Early Order Premium – each month growers are offered a premium for committing tonnage to the SQP pools. The earlier the commitment the higher the premium.

This year the premium was up to $20 per tonne for wheat and $25 per tonne for canola. The barley premium was $15 per tonne (March EOP 2008 for the 2008/09 pool).

On the first business day of every month, commencing in March and running through to September, premiums are announced and allocations are strictly limited - so customers need to get in early to secure participation.

2. Guaranteed Minimum Pool Return (GMP) - each month the EOP +PLUS program also offers a Guaranteed Minimum Pool Return. The GMP offers a ‘floor price’ which provides added protection against volatile market conditions and whilst SQP’s pool estimates aim to achieve above the average market return, the GMP is additional comfort for growers that subscribe to the EOP +PLUS.

3. Maximum Cancellation Fee – if the worst happens and your crop fails SQP offers a fixed cancellation fee which is also published each month along with the premiums.

You can now commit with confidence knowing if production failure eventuates you are not left guessing about the cancellation fees (conditions apply, see the terms and conditions for more details.)

All the normal pool conditions apply (which are available here) and quality premiums and discounts will be released by SQP prior to harvest (usually in October).

This product has been extremely popular with growers with most EOP allocations being fully subscribed and closing prior to the end of the month.
