Topic: “8 factors that will drive global agricultural markets to 2020”
Mike Dwyer is Director of Global Policy Analysis Division within the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and is responsible for conducting and coordinating analyses on a wide variety of strategic issues that affect U.S. and world agricultural trade, including those that affect world agricultural markets with a focus on international agricultural trade, the emerging worldwide biofuels market, and global food security.

Presenter: Malcolm McMahon
Topic: “Current Australian and global conditions for now and into next harvest
Malcolm joined Emerald as General Manager, Merchandising in 2005. Malcolm holds more than 35 years’ experience at listed Australian and International agribusiness corporations, including global exposure to commodity trading, finance and accumulation activities. Malcolm’s executive career has included senior management and trading roles with Riverina Stockfeeds, Cargill, AWB Ltd, Graincorp and Elders. Malcolm has previously held Non-Executive Chairman and Director roles in agribusiness and logistics companies, including Plantech, Seedmark, Pulse Australia, ABA and Bulk Terminals Australia.
Malteurop
Presenter: Christian Norgard
Topic: “Malt varieties in Victoria and their relevance to the domestic and international market”
Malteurop is currently the world’s largest maltster with 23 plants across all regions of the world. Annual malting barley usage is 2.8 million mt. The company is owned by Champagne Cereal’s a farmer owned co-operative in France that also are significant participants in Grain Storage, Flour milling and Ethanol production. Christian is responsible for all the barley trading activities within the Malteurop Group. This includes physical supply to plants, position management / Hedging and advising our brewer customers. Christian has been with Malteurop for the past 6 years with prior employment at AWB trading barley and working in the grain marketing area of the business starting in 1999.
